Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What should I expect when I visit?
A: As you prepare to visit with CUMC, be prepared to experience friendship, love, and spiritual fullness. Early morning Communion, Sunday school classes, after worship fellowship, and 1st Sunday Lunch add to the experience.
Q: Where do I go?
A: On Sunday enter the Church via the front or side doors. You will find a welcoming, loving congregation happy to greet you.
Q: How should I dress?
A: With the broad range of people worshipping at CUMC, we have people coming in every type of attire from blue jeans and sneakers to their “Sunday finest.” Most people dress casually. Bottom line, wear whatever feels comfortable to you! You will be welcome!
Q: How many sacraments are there in the United Methodist Church?
A: We have two sacraments: baptism and communion.
Q: How do United Methodists perform baptism?
A: We believe baptism is a gift from God given without price. Therefore we baptize infants, children and adults alike. We baptize in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit by sprinkling/pouring water on the head. We can baptize using full immersion if special arrangements are made.

Q: How and when is Holy Communion celebrated?
A: We offer communion every Sunday at a special 9:30 a.m communion service and on the first Sunday of every month during the regular 11:00 a.m. worship service. We practice open-communion because we believe that everyone is welcome at Christ’s table. We normally use intinction which involves taking a piece of bread and dipping it in the cup of grape juice.
